Children
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 19:14
At First Methodist Church, we feel called to bring children to Christ. We seek to help children know they are loved by God and by their church in a safe, fun environment. Our Children’s Team is made up of staff and volunteers who consider it a sacred joy to work with kids and their parents as they show and tell them the way of Jesus.
Our Programs
Nursery
Nursery is available for kids 4 and under on Sunday mornings for Sunday School and Worship from 8:30-11:15 with paid nursery staff. The nursery is in the classrooms behind the sanctuary. Ask a greeter for directions. We do not offer nursery during Chapel, but little ones are welcome!
Children’s Sunday School, 8:45-9:45
During the school year, we have Children’s Sunday School for 4-year-olds through 5th grade. Kids have music, games, and a Bible lesson.
Children’s Church
Children’s Church is for 4-year-olds through grade 5. It happens every Sunday except First Sunday, when we receive Communion. Bring your child to worship with you, and Children’s Church participants will be dismissed before the sermon to go with their leaders to Children’s Church, located just a few steps away from our sanctuary. They do a craft and have a Bible lesson. Parents/ guardians can pick them up there after the service.
Special Events
Throughout the year, our Children’s Ministry does special events like Vacation Bible School in the summer, Trunk or Treat near Halloween, and an Easter Egg Hunt in the spring. Follow our social media or check the church calendar for more info!
